JOB TITLE: Senior Manager, Streaming Media Operations

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
The Live Operations team at ViX is seeking a Senior Manager, Streaming Media Operations to lead and scale our live streaming operations across sports and entertainment content, with a strong focus on soccer.
This role goes beyond day-to-day execution and is responsible for driving operational excellence, scaling processes, and leading a high-performing, globally distributed team. The Senior Manager will oversee end-to-end live streaming operations: including scheduling, monitoring, incident management, escalation strategy, and continuous improvement, ensuring a seamless viewing experience across ViX, TelevisaUnivision, and third-party platforms.
You will play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of Live Operations by defining strategy, implementing scalable workflows, driving automation, and partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and external vendors to enhance platform reliability and performance.

Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Streaming Media Analysts and Managers across multiple regions and time zones.
- Drive team performance through clear KPIs, coaching, and performance management.
- Build organizational capability, including hiring, onboarding, and developing talent pipelines in Colombia and globally.
Operational Excellence & Strategy
- Own and evolve Live Operations strategy, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Establish and track operational KPIs and SLAs, delivering executive-level reporting and insights.
- Lead incident management strategy, including escalation frameworks and communication protocols.
Live Streaming Operations
- Oversee real-time monitoring of 10–50+ concurrent live events daily, ensuring best-in-class streaming quality across all platforms (Web, Mobile, CTV).
- Ensure proactive monitoring of encoder health, playback performance, and application stability.
- Drive rapid identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of streaming issues.
Process Optimization & Automation
- Design and implement scalable workflows, tools, and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Leverage dashboards and monitoring systems to predict, detect, and mitigate issues proactively.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Data teams to improve system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve issues, implement enhancements, and deliver new capabilities.
- Ensure alignment on content publishing, syndication, and distribution workflows.
Content Operations & Systems
- Oversee the use of CMS tools for live event scheduling and content publishing.
- Ensure proper integration and compliance across digital content delivery, syndication, and streaming systems.
- Maintain oversight of ticketing systems (e.g., Jira), ensuring timely resolution and accountability.
Qualifications - Education & Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in streaming media operations, digital media, or broadcast environments
- 3+ years of experience in people management and leading distributed teams
- Strong background in NOC operations, live event monitoring, and incident management
- Deep understanding of video streaming technologies, codecs, content delivery networks (CDNs), and multimedia systems
- Proven ability to build and scale operational processes in high-growth environments
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and external vendors
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure live environment
- Fluency in English and Spanish
