Who We Are Looking ForAccreditation Canada is seeking Indigenous health care professionals to join our team of over 500 surveyors. This role is ideal for those with clinical expertise as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Medical Doctor (Physician), Social Worker or Counsellor. We invite applicants with experience in one or multiple of the following sectors: Indigenous Health Services, Substance Abuse and Gambling, Community Services, to apply.Your ImpactAs a surveyor, you will:
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to conduct on-site surveys.
Assess organizational programs and services against standards of excellence, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Share your expertise to guide organizations in adopting best practices and achieving better outcomes.
Key DetailsLocation: Canada Time Commitment:Minimum of two surveys per year (approximately 10 days). Support: Receive initial training, ongoing professional development, a modest honorarium, and full travel reimbursement as per expense policy. Earn continuing education credits from the First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA), Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), and the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Required Qualifications
First Nations, Inuit, and/or Métis person with employment in an organization accredited by Accreditation Canada or a partner organization.
Leadership experience working in one or more of these areas: Indigenous Health Services, Substance Abuse and Gambling, Community Care.
Clinical expertise as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Medical Doctor (Physician) Social Worker, or Counsellor with valid licensure.
Experience working with patients, clinicians, administrators, or governance teams on service design or quality improvement initiatives and a strong commitment to improving care quality.
Proficiency in English (writing and communication) and technology.
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with a positive, adaptable attitude.
Knowledge of Accreditation Canada programs and accreditation processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of languages such as Inuktitut and Cree, or other Indigenous languages
Fluency in French.
Located outside of Alberta.
Experience working with different Indigenous communities.
