Overview
We are looking for a Youth & Family Program Coordinator to support programs that create a welcoming, safe, and engaging experience for children and families. This role plays a key part in supporting youth programs, special events, and family engagement opportunities at the Bonner Springs Family YMCA in Bonner Springs, KS.

Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Delivery
- Plan, coordinate, and support youth and family programs including Kids Zone and Kids Night Out
- Organize and manage program registrations and maintain accurate participant records
- Coordinate facility usage for program activities and events
- Monitor program participation and evaluate effectiveness to support continuous improvement
- Lead YMCA special events and family engagement activities
Family & Community Engagement
- Participate in marketing and recruitment efforts to grow program participation
- Assist in expanding programs within the community in alignment with YMCA strategic priorities
- Respond to member and community questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with fundraising initiatives and community events
Staffing & Leadership Support
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding associates and volunteers
- Help supervise staff and support day-to-day program operations
- Develop staff schedules within established guidelines
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing team communication
Operations & Administration
- Assist in managing day-to-day departmental operations
- Maintain organized program supplies, schedules, and documentation
- Ensure high-quality program delivery and participant experience
Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure programs operate safely and follow YMCA policies and procedures
- Report unsafe conditions, needed repairs, complaints, accidents, or injuries immediately to a supervisor
Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in this or a related field.
- Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
- Able to make independent and sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
- Able to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality.
- Detail oriented with good organizational skills, and be multi-task proficient.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to adapt to new software.
