You can look forward to these exciting tasks:
- Act as a recognized subject-matter expert for VAT and other indirect taxes within the Group Tax function.
- Independently assess and handle complex indirect tax issues, including cross-border supplies of goods and services, supply chain structures, and business transactions.
- Provide ongoing advisory support to Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Sales, Procurement, and IT on indirect tax matters.
- Ensure correct indirect tax treatment in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), including review of tax determination logic and master data.
- Support and partly drive indirect tax compliance processes, including VAT returns, reconciliations, audits, and tax authority inquiries.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of group-wide tax policies, guidelines, and internal controls for indirect taxes.
- Actively participate in business, restructuring, and transformation projects (e.g., new business models, system changes, ERP implementations) from an indirect tax perspective.
- Coordinate and challenge external advisors and support local tax/finance teams on technical VAT questions.
- Identify indirect tax risks and proactively propose pragmatic solutions to mitigate exposure.
This is what you bring to us:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management or a related business field.
- At least 3–5 years of professional experience in indirect taxes/VAT, preferably within a multinational group tax function or a reputable tax advisory firm.
- Solid and practical knowledge of EU and international VAT law, including complex transactional and supply chain-related topics.
- Good understanding of end-to-end business processes and their indirect tax implications.
- Experience with ERP systems (ideally SAP) and indirect tax process design.
- Highly experienced with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fluent in English; German or additional languages are an advantage.
