The Role
We’re looking for a hands‑on, commercially minded Management Accountant to take ownership of financial performance across a portfolio of entities within the Group. This role sits at the heart of the business — partnering closely with building managers, department heads, and senior finance to turn numbers into insight.
Reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in month‑end, management reporting, and board-level outputs, while driving strong controls, clear analysis, and process improvement across the portfolio.

What you’ll be doing
💷 Operating Costs & Revenue Ownership
- Manage revenue and operating costs across a defined portfolio of UK entities.
- Act as the finance point of contact for allocated cost and revenue categories.
- Stay close to day‑to‑day operations, keeping finance and head office teams informed of key developments.
- Build strong relationships with building managers and department heads, providing clear analysis and support when needed.
📊 Month‑End & Management Reporting
- Own month‑end close within agreed timetables.
- Review full P&Ls and balance sheets across buildings and entities.
- Prepare variance analysis and commentary against budget and historical performance.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet items, including the fixed asset register.
- Produce and distribute management packs to operational stakeholders.
- Contribute to board packs and senior reporting.
🤝 Business Partnering & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with department heads on cost analysis and budget preparation.
- Review the work of AP and AR teams, ensuring accurate posting and up‑to‑date debtors and creditors.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls — and help implement change.
- Prepare annual audit packs and liaise with auditors.
- Support year‑end and shareholder reporting requirements.

Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
Strong financial background (real estate experience helpful but not essential).
- End‑to‑end understanding of accounts production, AP, AR, and banking transactions.
- Proven experience improving processes and implementing change.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and present complex data clearly.
- Experience with SAP ByDesign and/or Salesforce is desirable.
- Strong commercial awareness — able to see the bigger picture, not just the detail.
Qualifications
- Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA with at least 2 years’ PQE.
