Position Overview:
Merrimack College, which is one of the fastest-growing educational institutions in the country and is located just minutes from Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, and goal-driven professional to join the Office of Undergraduate Admission as an Assistant/Senior Assistant Director of Admission. Reporting to the Associate Director, this role is responsible for driving undergraduate enrollment through strategic recruitment, relationship building, and data-informed outreach. The successful candidate will serve as a primary ambassador of the College, guiding prospective students and families through the admissions process while advancing institutional enrollment goals.
Key responsibilities for the position:
Enrollment & Territory Management
Develop and execute a data-informed recruitment strategy for an assigned geographic territory
Meet or exceed enrollment goals, including applications, admits, and deposits
Analyze performance metrics and adjust outreach strategies to optimize results
Student Engagement & Recruitment
Build strong relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, and community partners
Deliver compelling, personalized communication across multiple channels (phone, email, text, in-person)
Represent the College at high schools, college fairs, and recruitment events (8-12 weeks travel annually)
Campus Presence & Events
Serve as Counselor of the Day, conducting information sessions and advising visitors
Support on-campus, virtual, and off-campus recruitment and yield events
Provide a high level of customer service throughout the admissions experience
Application Review & Operations
Evaluate first-year applications and make admissions recommendations aligned with institutional policies
Maintain accurate records and engagement tracking within the CRM system (Slate)
Collaborate with campus partners to support enrollment initiatives
Leadership & Collaboration (Senior Assistant Director)
Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff
Lead key projects and initiatives within the admission office
Serve as a liaison to campus stakeholders and contribute to strategic planning
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
Valid U.S. driving license required.
1-2 years of experience (Assistant Director) or 2-4 years of experience (Senior Assistant Director) in admissions, recruitment, sales, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to manage a rigorous travel schedule, including extended periods of independent travel, while effectively representing the institution
Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Strong multi-tasking, organization and time management skills
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a data-oriented and analytical environment that has a high level of individual and team accountability
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally, and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with prospective students, parents, school counselors, alumni, colleagues, and members of the Merrimack community
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, adapt quickly, and consistently deliver results in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects over time (Senior Assistant Director)
Experience with MS Office, Google Suite, Slate CRM
Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed at various times throughout the year.

Work Location
