Job SummaryThe Lending Specialist Intern works closely with the Relationship Managers to evaluate the internal workings of a loan production office. The Lending Specialist Intern may be involved with reviewing financial statements and other financial documentation to learn the basics of evaluating (underwriting) the needs of prospective and existing borrowers. The Lending Specialist Intern may also learn how to the gather and analyze credit information, for conducting preliminary company, financial, and industry analysis, and performing other basic due diligence to evaluate risk/return parameters of financing transactions. This position may participate with the Relationship Manager, Portfolio Banker or Lending Specialist in interactions with clients.Essential DutiesLearn how to understand and analyze credit data, financial statements and pertinent information for credit worthiness.Learn how to understand and spread financial statements and Federal tax returns on CASH Insight of borrowers and guarantors.Learn how to understand and analyze financial data such as revenue growth, profitability, cash flow, quality of management, and industry market share.Learn how to understand and compare liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of businesses being evaluated.Learn how to understand and monitor credit risk by periodically evaluating financial trends, credit bureau reports, pay habits, and other sources of information of the borrower and guarantor(s).Required KnowledgeBank Secrecy Act (BSA)Privacy LawsOther regulations will be reviewed as needed.
