Job Description
The Ultrasound Technician performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations to support patient evaluation, clinical decision-making, and ongoing treatment planning. This position combines technical imaging expertise with patient care responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare setting focused on quality, safety, and clinical excellence.
The role includes performing and evaluating sonographic studies, collaborating with physicians and clinical staff, maintaining imaging documentation, and supporting efficient daily imaging operations.|

Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and clinical assessments while adapting imaging procedures to patient condition, anatomy, and physician orders
- Evaluate sonographic images, identify normal and abnormal findings, and communicate diagnostic information and preliminary findings to physicians as appropriate
- Support patient safety, comfort, and education throughout imaging procedures while maintaining compassionate, professional patient interactions
- Coordinate imaging schedules, maintain accurate patient records and exam documentation, and assist with daily sonography department operations
- Collaborate with physicians, imaging personnel, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure efficient workflow and continuity of patient care
- Monitor imaging equipment functionality, report technical issues, and support quality assurance and laboratory accreditation activities
- Participate in departmental education, organizational compliance training, and ongoing clinical competency requirements
Qualifications
Requirements & Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program; CAAHEP-accredited training preferred
- Minimum two years of recent ultrasound imaging experience in a hospital or clinical setting
- Current BLS certification required
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic sonography practices with the ability to independently evaluate images, adapt examinations, and communicate findings effectively
- Experience operating sonographic imaging equipment and integrating patient history, laboratory data, and clinical documentation into diagnostic assessments
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environments while maintaining effective communication with patients and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required, along with a valid U.S. passport with at least 18 months remaining before expiration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically MRPT clearance
- Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the assignment and communicate effectively in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital image acquisition and transmission systems
- ARRT and/or Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) eligibility or certification preferred
- Prior experience or interest in general X-ray imaging responsibilities
- Current Continuing Medical Education (CME) compliance within applicable imaging specialty areas

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
