Oxford Instruments is seeking a motivated and forward‑thinking Manager Payroll, Compensation & Benefits to lead and harmonise our reward practices across the EMEAI region. This is a pivotal role ensuring operational excellence in payroll while driving modern, fair and competitive compensation and benefits strategies that help us attract, motivate and retain top talent.
You will work closely with HR Teams across EMEAI, the Global Reward team, Finance, and our external payroll providers to deliver high‑quality, compliant and impactful reward programmes.
What You’ll Do
Compensation & Benefits
- Lead the full annual C&B cycle for the region, including salary reviews, bonus schemes, sales incentive plans and related communications.
- Work with our Global Reward team to design and implement modern, competitive country‑level benefits.
- Develop and maintain harmonised remuneration structures, job grading frameworks, performance‑related pay, benchmarking and retirement schemes.
- Monitor market and industry trends to ensure Oxford Instruments remains competitive and compliant.
- Ensure pay equity and legislative compliance across all EMEAI countries.
- Support cross‑border mobility for tax and social security compliance.
- Provide data analysis and HR KPIs (e.g., sickness, attrition, cost trends).
Payroll Coordination
- Oversee payroll delivery for all EMEAI countries.
- Act as the key contact for all payroll agencies, ensuring robust, transparent and efficient processes.
- Track and verify all payroll changes including new hires, leavers, salary adjustments, bonuses and absences.
- Review payroll reports for accuracy, resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with Finance on approvals, reporting and compliance.
- Provide support and guidance to employees on payroll-related matters.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure all processes comply with legislation, internal policies, and audit requirements.
- Work closely with our HR IS Manager to ensure accurate, effective use of SuccessFactors (GEM).
- Support wider EMEAI HR projects and global reward initiatives.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative, high‑performing HR team.
Your Regional Scope
This role covers our EMEAI locations, currently including:
Germany, France, Switzerland + employees in Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland and India.

What You Bring
- University degree in business, HR, finance or a related field.
- Extensive experience in Compensation & Benefits / Total Rewards and payroll; international exposure is ideal.
- Strong knowledge of salary benchmarking, job evaluation, remuneration structures and performance‑linked pay.
- High proficiency with HRIS systems (ideally SuccessFactors), Excel and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of EMEAI payroll environments is highly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
- Experience managing vendors and external providers.
- A proactive mindset, solution‑orientated approach and passion for process improvement.
- Fluent German and English; additional European languages welcome.
