Construction Project Manager – Commercial Projects

Compensation: $95,000+ annually (based on experience)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead a variety of commercial, institutional, and government-related projects from initial planning through final completion. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives in managing multiple priorities, coordinating teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Project types may include renovations, site development, IDIQ contracts, lump-sum work, and fast-paced project delivery environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Develop project estimates, budgets, proposals, and change order pricing
- Manage subcontractor selection, procurement processes, and contract administration
- Build and maintain project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Track progress against timelines and address any schedule impacts
- Conduct site visits to monitor safety, quality, and overall performance
- Coordinate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with permitting requirements and applicable regulations
- Lead project meetings and maintain accurate documentation and reporting
- Monitor financial performance, including cost tracking and billing activities
- Support safety, environmental, and quality control initiatives
- Collaborate with field teams to develop short-term (look-ahead) schedules
- Identify risks early and implement effective solutions
- Ensure all work aligns with contract requirements and project standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 4–7 years of experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor
or 10+ years of relevant construction management experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience managing subcontractors and/or self-performed work
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and project execution
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with scheduling, budgeting, estimating, and cost control
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work on active job sites, including walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government or public-sector construction projects
- Familiarity with IDIQ contracts and fast-track project delivery
- OSHA 30 certification
- First Aid and CPR certifications
- USACE/NAVFAC CQC certification (a plus)
- Professional certifications such as AC, CPC, or PE are highly valued
