Engineering Analyst II
As an Engineering Analyst on the Industrial Technology Team, you will support the development and implementation of new products across Woodward's energy control portfolio through CFD, FEA, and 1D system simulations. Working within a multidisciplinary, international R&D team spanning the US, Germany, and Poland.
Estimated annual base pay: $77,000 (minimum) - $100,000 (midpoint) - $123,000(maximum)

Key Responsibilities:
- Works assigned tasks to meet schedule and may coordinate details with other departments. Perform analysis of basic components with guidance
- Performs basic analysis using established methods. Recognizes problems which are beyond capabilities and is learning from the experts in the area
- Interacts with internal departments to identify and mitigate design risks associated with their analysis discipline
- Creates analysis models, to support robust and reliable designs. Modifies and improves template analysis to fit job requirements.
- Writes internal reports and presentations. May author content for customers when directly reviewed by a more senior Analyst or Engineer
Key Skills:
- Basic ability to understand and interpret government, industry and Woodward technical standards including quality system standards and PLC process
- Basic understanding of component function and testing. Ability to interpret engineering data and drawings pertinent to focus role area
- Basic use of DFSS tools and methodologies; competent knowledge of engineering quality systems (PLC, engineering change, configuration management)
- Effective time management skills. Able to manage multiple activities
- Competent written/verbal communication skills and presentation skills; basic technical writing skills (procedures, reports, etc.)
- Ability to effectively operate in the project team environment and communicate with customers
- Competent use and understanding of computer aided engineering tools for mechanical analysis; Finite Element Analysis, Equation solvers. Understands manufacturing processes, drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerances as well as shop standards and procedures
- Competent use and understanding of state of the art system modeling and dynamics analysis tools. Solid understanding of dynamics analysis and validation processes
- Competent use and understanding of computer aided engineering tools for reliability and maintainability prediction; fault tree analysis, failure modes and effects analysis
- Understanding of RCCA and actively assists in failure investigations
Other Qualifications:
- 4 Year Bachelors BS degree
Successful Candidates Will Also Have:
- 2–4 years of experience or equivalent graduate research experience
- Mathematics Course work — Calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, numerical methods
- Scientific Method — Hypothesis-driven analysis, validation against test data, data interpretation
- Basic Programming / Scripting — Any language (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
- Engineering Drawing Interpretation — Ability to read engineering drawings and basic GD&T understanding
