C.A. Lawton Co. in Minster, OH is seeking a Foundry Supervisor to lead our 2nd shift operations. In this role, you will oversee daily foundry production activities, support and lead team members, ensure safety and quality standards are met, and help drive operational efficiency throughout the shift.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and experience motivating and developing employees. This position plays a key role in maintaining production flow and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the foundry.
Shift: 2nd Shift Hours: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Overtime work as needed) Pay Type: Salary Non-Exempt Salary: $75,000 annually
Position Summary The Foundry Supervisor is responsible for directing workflow, manufacturing processes, and workforce activities on the foundry floor during 2nd shift operations. This role leads a quality-oriented, safe, and productive workforce while executing the production plan and ensuring scheduled work is completed efficiently.
Responsibilities • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees • Coordinate and communicate work requirements according to the foundry production plan • Investigate safety incidents, quality concerns, and near misses • Identify root causes and assist in problem-solving efforts to improve quality • Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement activities • Lead and support employees through training and development • Promote teamwork, accountability, and positive communication • Ensure employees follow existing work standards while seeking opportunities for improvement • Assist with employee performance, attendance, and workflow management • Work approximately 50 hours per week on average • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications • Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing or foundry operations preferred • Strong leadership and communication skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards • Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset • Ability to effectively train and develop employees
Physical Requirements • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift • Occasional bending, climbing, kneeling, squatting, and overhead reaching • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with heat, noise, vibration, dust, and moving equipment
