As an Inpatient Mental Health Monitor Sitter, you will perform health-related video monitoring in a correctional environment. We will count on you to report findings, observations, and the patients' unusual and daily activities to the licensed nursing staff.

We Require
Six months of experience performing clerical or support services in a medical setting
High school diploma or GED
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements
Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail access
Travel or floating to various clinical locations within a 5-mile radius is required. Must be able to respond to emergencies
We Also Value
Experience in viewing multiple computer monitors and reporting findings
Experience observing patients and reporting findings to nursing staff
Job Contributions
Perform visual or video monitoring of Inpatient Mental Health patients and report findings and observations to the licensed nurse
Provide and maintain patient confidentiality
Complete and process all required documentation legibly, timely, and with accuracy
Assist the patient care team as directed to ensure patient care and unit activities are complete
Participate in orientation and training of new staff, as well as group problem-solving and teamwork
Complete required classes and education credits
Answer phones as needed and perform other related duties as assigned
Working Conditions
The position includes day or night shifts, which may include weekends and holidays
Must push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney. Must be able to work inside a jail and stand/walk/bend for extended periods of time throughout the shift
This position requires accurately handling a high volume of work, communicating with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasks
