Position Summary
The Benefits Advisor is responsible for helping employees understand, navigate, and confidently use their benefits, especially healthcare—through proactive guidance, education, and one-on-one support.
This role serves as a trusted resource for employees, simplifying complex information, improving the overall benefits experience, and influencing smarter healthcare decisions. The Benefits Advisor is highly visible, regularly engaging employees across all locations and shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Guidance & Support (Primary Focus)
Serve as the primary resource for employee benefits questions, with a focus on healthcare navigation
Provide one-on-one guidance to help employees make informed benefits decisions
Assist employees in understanding claims, billing issues, and coverage details
Take ownership of employee issues and follow through to resolution
Proactive Employee Engagement
Regularly connect with employees across all plants and shifts—not just during open enrollment
Identify patterns of confusion or concern and address them proactively
Build trust through consistent visibility and accessibility
Partner with HR Business Partners and leaders to support employee needs
Benefits Education & Communication
Develop and deliver clear, simple, and practical benefits education
Lead new hire benefits orientation focused on understanding, not just enrollment
Create tools, guides, and communications that simplify complex benefits information
Improve how benefits are communicated throughout the year
Administration Benefits
Support enrollment, eligibility, and benefits changes accurately and timely
Work with brokers and vendors on plan administration and renewals
Assist with benefits billing issues and discrepancies
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with applicable regulations
Data & Continuous Improvement
Analyze claims data, employee feedback, and utilization trends
Identify opportunities to improve employee understanding and experience
Recommend enhancements to plans, communication, or processes
Support efforts to improve utilization and reduce avoidable costs
Wellness & Engagement
Lead wellness initiatives aligned with employee needs
Support broader employee engagement efforts in partnership with HR team

Qualifications
3+ years of experience in benefits, HR, insurance, or related field
Strong ability to explain complex information in simple, practical terms
Demonstrated ability to build trust and work effectively with employees at all levels
High level of initiative and proactive problem-solving
Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and trends
Proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems
