EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP: Just cause subject to probationary period
CURRENT HOURS AND STARTING TIME: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The start time for this position is currently 8:30 a.m.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under direction, is responsible for the overall support and maintenance of technology requests; provides help desk support to end users and assists in supporting network, hardware, and systems activities related to the overall support of the information systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides technical assistance to support technology projects and adheres to schedules as prepared by Project Managers, Supervisors, Division Managers and/or other project coordinators.
Assists in the performance of systems analyses, evaluation and maintenance of various systems.
Provides estimates as requested for project hours, duration and costs, as well as budgetary projections.
Provides direct support of help desk requests and performs troubleshooting, logging all requests and troubleshooting into service desk tool.
Conducts the gathering of quotes and estimates related to hardware and/or software purchases.
Trains staff to use hardware and/or software as directed.
Assists Macomb County Department of Information Technology staff on security implementation and compliance, disaster recovery, data back-ups and redundancy, VoIP systems, and or other technology systems.
Assists in the evaluation of workstations, end-point devices and any other peripheral devices that may be needed by the client community and/or IT.
Ensures compliance with Macomb County Department of Information Technology policies, procedures, and standards; suggests changes and/or enhancements as necessary.
Ensures receiving and computer room environment(s) and staging areas are secure, neat and orderly.
Places, tracks and documents service calls to third-party service providers for network, workstations and end-devices; resolves issues and documents resolution with assistance of third party vendors.
Maintains spare parts and supply inventory levels to ensure product availability.
Coordinates equipment maintenance with designated providers and works cooperatively with third-party service providers as required to ensure system up-time and reliability.
Operates an automobile for authorized travel in performing assigned duties.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development test
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of maintenance and system administration experience
Required Licenses or Certifications
Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
