Job Description:
General Summary:
Provides continuous improvement in Quality systems and quality metric performance through process and quality improvement tools. Leads teams to investigate quality problems. Implements Quality management System best practices to meet business need and customer requirements including IATF certification. Uses strong analytical and problem solving skills to better define customer needs, improve customer quality satisfaction and improve internal “Cost of Quality” performance. Applies knowledge of QMS, product/ process design, continuous improvement , quantitative methods/tools, supplier management and new product introduction to deliver capable quality processes and good quality culture related to customer satisfaction, yields, capacity and OEE performance.
Oversees the operations of manufacturing lab to ensure that safety requirement are followed and all lab equipments are supplied and maintained. Leads lab technicians to utilize lab skills to test and measure raw materials and products, ensures that experiments are completed according to established SOP, best laboratory practices, as well as any applicable regulations or industry standards. Manages the quality records and reports.Mentors lab technicians and assists in operations training.
Responsibilities:
1. EHS & Core Value:
- Ensure compliance with DuPont EHS and business ethics standards.
- Be responsible for lab task risk analysis and implement control/improvement to ensure safe operation in lab
- Take lead of lab safety programs/ plans, safety audit etc
- Assures quality decisions and lab staff behavior is consistent with DuPont core values
2. Quality
- Drive the organization’s quality culture, support to develop the organization’s quality competency
- Organize quality planning and improvement. Develop clear quality COTs, establish metrics (KPIs) and performance goals consistent with business needs
- Accountable for site quality performance and QMS related issues.
- Propose recognition for quality related achievements
- Lead the quality improvement project assigned by site management team
- Maintain effectiveness of ISO9001 &IATF16949 quality management system. Conduct regular internal audit in the plant. Implementing corrective and preventive action, facilitating MT and Operations management’s ability to drive continuous quality improvement.
- Be responsible for quality performance dialogue in management review for continuous improvement. Implement improvements to eliminate the root cause of quality problems.
- Support implementing BU business process which lead to improving quality performance ( e.g. new raw material qualification, New Product introduction, complaint tracking, business quality program/metrics, through MOC process, etc)
- Understands and reviews customer requirements. Transfer customer voice within organization, review and follow up customer requirements/specification periodically.
- Lead investigation of customer complaint and internal quality incident, identify root cause, enact corrective and preventive actions and follow up the implementation status.
- Communicate with customers as needed to assures adequate customer complaint resolution actions are in place. Lead improvement project teams (including customer members) to develop solutions.
- Lead site quality improvement initiatives. Interface multiple organizations including suppliers, internal partners, and customers to lead multi-disciplinary improvement teams.
3. Lab management
- Manage QC and product release process. Develop statistical process control methods, visualization of quality data, product release systems consistent with customer expectations.
- Lead the lab management work to keep the reliability, accuracy of quality inspection system.
- Contact with R&D/TS&D and other sister plants on test method improvement and uniformity work.
- Implement and maintain LIMS.
- Act as SAP Manufacturing/QM key user on daily operation
4. Training
- Provide training as needed for members of improvement teams such as in 5 Why, RCFA, etc.
- Lead / support the development of lab/QC personnel.
- Conduct operators’ key competency or skill training and qualification.
Qualifications:
Education Background
- BS or MS degree in Chemical, Chemical Engineering, Science / Engineering
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a quality management role
- 3~5 years experience of manufacturing and quality is required
Skills and knowledge
- Good knowledge of quality management systems with core tools such as QMS systems, PDCA, FMEA, DMAIC, RFCA, MSA, SPC, APQP.
- Obtain ISO9001 internal auditor certificate. ISO16949 internal auditor certificate is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in materials properties testing equipment and instrument is a plus
- Strong communication, analytical, team skills, business process management.
- Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
- Good competency of managing for productivity, be able to self motivated with strong ownership
- Good competency of analysis and judgment and time management
- Good verbal and written communication capability in both English and Mandarin
- Six sigma green belt is preferred
Training / Certifications
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification required (may be obtained on the job; recommended to complete within 3 years)
- ASQ Quality Engineer (may be obtained on the job; recommended to complete within 3 years)
- Six Sigma Black Belt and/or certified Lean Practitioner is additive
- Prior experience related to Quality management Systems such as ISO and others as appropriate and auditing.
- Manufacturing, marketing and R&D Product development Experience preferred
