Behavioral Health Clerkship Manager - Assistant to Chair - FT (Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 4:30pm) - Crossroads101 Truman Medical CenterThis is a mid-level professional position involving management of the specialty specific undergraduate medical education training program(s) while working independently under the general direction of the Department Chair and/or Clerkship Director. This position requires knowledge of the policies and procedures of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC SOM) and the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). The Clerkship Manager directs the daily operation of the clerkship program, managing all aspects of medical student education that occur on core and elective clinical experiences. The Clerkship Manager is also the primary link between the clerkship director, students, off-site faculty (in our hospital and office-based affiliates) and medical school administrative staff, and is responsible for building and maintaining strong, functional relationships with faculty, students, staff and administration. As directed, provides guidance to other Clerkship staff in own and/or other departments. Provides high level of administrative support to the Chair and department physicians.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree required in a related field such as health sciences, business, public administration, or education.
One year’s Coordinator experience in University Health Coordinator position.
Two years’ medical education management experience
Possess critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Demonstrated proficiency in technology utilized in program administration (ie Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Publisher, Canvas, etc.
Demonstrated excellent organization skills, collegiality, and adherence to critical deadlines
Articulate understanding of LCME accreditation requirements and the accreditation process.
Preferred Requirements
Knowledge of accreditation or credentialing.
Master’s degree in a related field such as health sciences, business, public administration, or education
Experience specifically related to the program in which the position resides
Ability to provide guidance and monitor performance of support staff and/or other Clerkship Coordinators.
