Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers and assist with supplier selection and sourcing decisions based on cost, quality, capability and supplier risk assessment.
- Provide supplier insights and technical perspectives to support sourcing strategies and decision making.
- Conduct on-site supplier assessments focused on technical capability, quality systems, risk management and capacity evaluations.
- Work with suppliers to understand technical specifications, engineering requirements, and ensure quality and reliability can be repeated and reproduced throughout the life of the purchased component(s).
- Partner with the New Product Implementation (NPI) Teams on supplier selection and the qualification for new parts/assemblies/products. Ensure that Sourcing strategies are adopted and preferred/strategic suppliers are selected for new business opportunities during the early new product lifecycle phases.
- Ensure alignment with suppliers on production validation requirements.
- Support commercial negotiations on pricing, MOQs, lead times, payment terms and long-term agreements.
- Perform cost analysis, cost benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing.
- Ensure suppliers adhere to Integer standards for ethics, compliance and sustainability.
- Manage supplier onboarding, tooling development, and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
- Track project milestones, production ramp-up, and delivery timelines.
- Perform technical tasks to ensure purchased product performance and supplier capability including the completion of first article reports (statistical capability assessment), ensuring material regulation compliance, and executing engineering change requests to ensure continued high performance.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics (quality, on-time delivery, cost, responsiveness) and implement continuous improvement actions in collaboration with Integer cross-functional teams.
- Partner with suppliers and Integer Sourcing and Supply Chain Management team members to investigate and resolve supplied material issues and supply constraints.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal functions to identify and implement value improvement initiatives that result in year over year cost savings.
- Identify and evaluate new and existing technologies to improve the quality and reliability and/or for value improvement purposes for current and future components.
- Maintain compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures to support the Integer commitment to patient safety and product quality.
- Develop and maintain strong partnership with suppliers to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Maintain accurate records of supplier evaluations, audits, and performance metrics.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations on supplier capability and risk profiles.
- Serve as the primary technical and sourcing liaison between suppliers in Asia and Integer global cross-functional teams.
- Work closely with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and Global Sourcing teams to ensure alignment on supplier selection and ongoing performance.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
- 5–8 years of experience in sourcing, supplier quality, and/or supplier development roles.
- Background in supplier quality or operations is highly desirable.
- Experience with polymer manufacturing technologies (injection molding, extrusions, polymer processing).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, plastics, metals, electronics) and quality management systems.
- Experience working with plastics, metal processing, electronics suppliers.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal and external teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel frequently within China and occasionally internationally.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with medical device or similarly regulated industry.
- Knowledge of supplier markets and cost analysis.
- Familiarity with supplier audit processes and compliance standards.
- Strong project management skills.
