The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for building, testing, and technical support for manufacturing of New Product Introductions (NPI) and prototype builds. The role works closely with our engineering and production teams to support the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes. This role is integral in enhancing efficiency, product quality, and safety while reducing costs.
Job duties:
Supports the coordination of the successful launch of New Product Introductions (NPI) within operations
Subject matter expert on GENERAC products and manufacturing processes.
Work alongside engineers for design, material, and technical support of prototype builds
Collaborate with the engineering and manufacturing site to identify, develop, and implement improvements in manufacturing processes, including workflow, machinery, and equipment.
Provide technical support for the Manufacturing sites, including mechanical systems, process improvement, and work instructions.
Will develop, organize, and update manufacturing work areas, material flow, documentation, and system setups for new products and features.
Assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications
Adhere to and promote safety protocols and practices in the manufacturing environment, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing insights and suggestions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
Perform inspections and quality control checks to ensure that products meet established standards and specifications. Identify and address any quality issues promptly.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Associates Degree in Technical discipline
Work Experience: 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Design experience in CAD (AutoCAD, Solid Works and/or ProE)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Project contribution experience with a diversity of team skills
Organization, prioritization, and time management skills
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
Proficiency in using tools and instruments for quality control and testing.
Understanding of engineering principles and an ability to read engineering drawings.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Technical discipline
Work Experience: 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
