JOB SUMMARY
The Degree Audit Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Registrar’s Office while assisting with the
maintenance of the degree audit system in Workday. This position serves as a primary point of contact for
students, faculty, staff, and external constituents, providing high-quality customer service and guidance on
registration, academic records, and degree requirements.
The role is responsible for front office triage, registration processing, and administrative operations, while also
managing the degree audit system, ensuring the accuracy of academic records, and supporting students’ progress
toward graduation. This position collaborates closely with academic departments, Technology, and other
administrative offices to maintain data integrity, implement curriculum changes, and ensure compliance with
institutional policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serve as a primary point of contact for the Registrar’s Office, assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors in person, by phone, and via email
Provide front office triage and respond to inquiries regarding registration, records, degree requirements and academic policies
Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and student-centered environment
Communicate university policies and procedures clearly to diverse audiences
Monitor and respond to shared inboxes, including registrar@simmons.edu and degreeaudit@simmons.edu
Assist with the operation, maintenance, and functionality of the degree audit system
Configure and update degree programs, requirements, and course mappings in collaboration with academic departments and Technology.
Ensure degree requirements are accurately reflected and maintained in the system
Assist students in understanding their academic progress and remaining requirements for graduation
Identify and implement improvements to degree audit processes and system functionality
Process registrations, add/drop forms, and enrollment updates
Coordinate and support New Student Registration and orientation processes
Maintain accuracy and integrity of student academic records
Assist with data cleanup initiatives and system improvements
Liaise with Student Financial Services to resolve discrepancies between academic and billing records
Perform audits to identify and resolve duplicate or inconsistent academic accounts
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in support of Registrar’s Office operations and evolving institutional needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
1–3 years of experience in a Registrar’s Office, academic advising, or related field
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Excellent communication and customer service skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Student Workday, as well as college transcript review and transfer credit evaluation, is preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
COMPETENCIES
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience with student degree audit systems and curriculum management.
High-level knowledge of student information systems and associated technologies used to support registrar functions.
Thorough knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and procedures, including FERPA.
Demonstrated analytical skills; working knowledge of higher education curriculum.
Experience working with faculty, administrators, and students required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is hybrid-eligible, with a combination of on-site and remote work expected
Responsibilities are performed in a standard office environment
Primarily involves remaining in a stationary position (sitting) for prolonged periods while working at a computer, keyboarding, and utilizing a mouse/trackpad.
Occasionally required to lift, push, pull, or transport light to moderate objects, such as boxes of files or office supplies, typically weighing up to 20–30 pounds.
Requires sufficient manual dexterity to operate office equipment (keyboards, scanners, printers) and mobility to move around an office environment.
Occasional bending, stooping, stretching, and walking are required.
