Division: Global News Regina Work Status: Full-Time Location: Regina, SK (Onsite)
About the Role: Global Regina is currently seeking a full-time Technical Producer. Reporting to the Supervisor Technical Producer, the successful candidate will be responsible for technical production of weekday newscasts. This position requires regularly working afternoons & evenings, with flexibility to work mornings and holidays when needed.
You will contribute by:
• Marking and editing video elements as required for a Multi-Market Content (MMC) workflow. • Operating various automated control room applications. • Technical initialization, facilities checks and operation of camera robotics, video switchers, audio boards, character generators, teleprompters, etc. • Operating and maintaining working knowledge of production equipment. • Supporting multi-platform needs including online and OTT. • Recording and monitoring feeds. • Maintaining high standards of production procedures and on-air quality. • Performing other duties as assigned.
Skills and experience you will bring:
• Post-secondary education in a broadcast-related field is preferred. • Previous experience working in a control room is preferred. Experience working with Mosart, non-linear workflows and Open Media would be a strong asset. • Experience working in Multi-Market Content (MMC) and live control rooms considered an asset. • Knowledge of non-linear editing systems. • Knowledge of newsroom management systems including Mosart, Open Media, Grass Valley, ORAD, or Xpression. • Ability to work and show confidence in high pressure situations and attention to detail. • Knowledgeable and interested in local, national, and international news. • Ability to calmly handle the demands and pressures of meeting multiple, daily broadcast deadlines in a high-tech environment. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • An engaged team player with a positive “Make It Happen” attitude. • Valid Driver's license and clear driver's abstract preferred.
