Position Summary: 

• As an active member of a multidisciplinary team, the OTA/PTA provides client-centered clinical care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist. 
• Provides goal-oriented treatment interventions, patient/family education and support to address physical, emotional and self-care needs as assigned. 
• Provides timely and astute information to relevant team members about patient’s performance. 
• Participates in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation 
• Supervises activities of OTA/PTA students, volunteers and co-op students as assigned. 

Key Qualifications: 

• Certificate from both an Occupational Therapist Assistant Program and the Physiotherapist Assistant Program; at minimum PTA certification. 
• WSIB specialty treatment provision an asset. 
• Experience providing care to post-operative TJR patients preferred. 
• Confident overseeing exercise and functional activity. 
• FAE/FCE, JDA, PDA training an asset. 
• Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional with demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members; exercise good judgment, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal, organizational, communication and documentation skills. 
• A positive work and attendance record is essential. 
• Positive attendance and work record essential
