Social Worker (Level 2) | 10491 | permanent contract | 37 hours per week | £39,862 to £41,771 per annum | Grade J | Norwich 

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hardworking Social Worker to join the Norwich Learning Disability Social Work Team. 

We are co-located with our key partner, Norfolk Community Health and Care Trust, and we provide an integrated approach to assessment and care. You will work in a small, friendly and supportive team alongside the Team Manager, a Practice Consultant, Social Workers and Assistant Practitioners supporting adults with Learning Disability needs in the City of Norwich.

We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers (grade J and above) new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should you leave within two years of employment. 

For experienced Social Workers new to Norfolk County Council, we promise to try and match or better your existing salary, providing it's in the spectrum of the grade advertised. 

You may have experience in the field of Learning Disability or would like the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and skills. You will be passionate about making a difference, and ready to embrace change.

A team player, you will need to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, be well organised and able to effectively prioritise and risk assess your caseload. The ability to travel is essential and we will expect you to have good IT skills. To build meaningful relationships with the people we support, this role requires regular in-person work in both the office and community. 

You will have a sound understanding of law, in particular The Care Act, The Mental Capacity Act and The Mental Health Act.

You will be a qualified, experienced Social Worker with at least one year’s post-qualifying experience.

We work in a hybrid way, meaning your time will be split between home and the office, which is County Hall in Norwich.
