Duties & Responsibilities
At Stifel, interns take an active role within deal teams, contributing to mandates throughout the DACH region as well as to complex cross‑border international transactions, gaining exposure to high‑quality mandates and collaborating with teams across offices. The internship provides insight into all phases of M&A advisory, offering a steep and rewarding learning curve. High‑performing interns may also be considered for a full‑time analyst offer upon successful completion of the internship, depending on business requirements and availability.
- Transaction execution: Support on multiple mandates, including the preparation of Information Memorandums (IMs), management presentations, and board-level materials
- Financial Modeling: Assist in performing a company’s financial analyses, modelling and valuation (DCF, trading peers, transaction comps, etc.)
- Process management: Assisting the deal team in the execution of transactions (due diligences, Q&A, process tracking)
- Strategic research: Help perform in-depth industry research and financial benchmarking to support deal execution and origination efforts
- Other: Occasional tasks such as corporate presentations, sector screenings, investors' lists, etc.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a self-starter with a "can-do" attitude and the stamina to thrive in a high-energy, high-velocity team environment.
- Well-rounded with an outstanding academic record (Investment Banking experience considered favourably)
- Strong interest in investment banking
- Ability to think broadly about a range of strategic issues confronting a company and its management
- Demonstrated capacity to work on multiple projects concurrently
- A keen interest in leveraging bespoke AI platforms. Stifel has invested heavily in modern data architecture and AI-driven banking workflows to provide a competitive edge in advisory
- High emotional maturity and the ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams under tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Business fluency in German (C2 level) and professional proficiency in English are essential for this role
