About the Team:
The music business development team drives negotiations and fosters relationships with record labels, music publishers and music societies. We are tasked with creating and implementing the TikTok music strategy. The team helps drive growth and awareness of TikTok and the music and artists that thrive therein. The Manager, Music Publishing Licensing and Partnerships (Korea and Japan) will facilitate the development and licensing of new music-related products and features across TikTok's suite of apps.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate music content licenses with music labels, music publishers and PROs/CMOs in Japan and Korea (and APAC region where necessary).
- Develop & maintain quality working relationships with music rightsholders and contribute to ongoing partner management strategy.
- Align cross functional strategies across Music Business Development Label and Publishing, Product, Legal, Operations and other teams to enable and support new music-related product development.
- Represent Music Licensing and Partnerships BD team in internal and external discussions related to product development and licensing roadmap.
- Understand product goals and anticipate music licensing and copyright-related requirements.
