A Day in the Life
We are seeking an experienced, hands on Senior Developer to join the Global Commercial Office’s (GCO) Customer Experience Technology team.
GCO leads Medtronic’s commercial strategy, and our Customer Experience Technology team delivers automated workflows, data-driven insights, and self-service capabilities that improve customer experience and commercial outcomes.
As the Senior Developer – Marketing Insights, you will build and support the marketing data
foundation—integrations, architecture, and reporting—delivering scalable segmentation, personalization, and measurement capabilities on our data platforms.
You will partner with global marketing teams to integrate and model data from Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketing Cloud Intelligence, Data 360, and Snowflake, ensuring data quality, performance, and consistent analytics.
Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned:
- Responsible for evaluating and designing, developing, or modifying marketing programs.
- Develop system design documentation (including GUI design, if required), perform coding, and test/debug programs.
- Create ad hoc or bolt-on programs for integrations or functional business teams as needed between Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data 360, Marketing Cloud Intelligence, CRM systems, and other enterprise platforms.
- Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation.
- Recommend changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.
- Train users in system enhancements and modifications.
- Provide patch and software upgrades to existing systems as required.
- Proactively monitor for errors, correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation for program support.
- Analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Work closely with functional users to enhance and maintain programs.
- Design, build, and maintain customer data models and activation datasets within Salesforce Data 360 to support segmentation, analytics, and downstream reporting and dashboarding use cases.
- Collaborate closely with global marketing and customer experience teams to translate business requirements into scalable data integrations, analytics architectures, and reporting solutions.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across the full development lifecycle, including solution architecture, data modeling, SQL development, dashboard creation, deployment, and production support.
- Support global marketing initiatives by ensuring reliable data pipelines, troubleshooting data quality and performance issues, and continuously optimizing analytics and reporting solutions.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Required: Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science or related field.
- 7–12+ years of software industry experience.
- Hands-on experience developing marketing analytics, reporting, and dashboard solutions.
- Hands-on experience with data ingestion, data modeling, identity resolution, and activation for analytics or reporting use cases.
- Proficiency with one or more of the following: SQL, API integrations, Snowflake.
Nice to Have: - Experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement, Data 360, and Marketing Cloud Intelligence preferred.
- Prior experience supporting marketing or commercial teams, with exposure to campaign data, customer journeys, personalization platforms, or marketing performance analytics.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting data integrations using APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex technical initiatives while effectively collaborating with global, cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for non-technical partners.
- Experience working within a regulated environment is preferred.
