The Shipping Team Lead is responsible for frontline leadership in day-to-day operations to include safety, quality, efficiency, and meeting customer expectations. Provides directions to production floor employees in the areas of production, training, and other related areas, striving to improve overall operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that truck drivers depart with appropriate paperwork.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of the shipping team to assist in preparing orders.
- Stage finished orders for shipping and load trucks.
- Lead shipping teams to accomplish tasks safely, on time, complete, and correct assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures. Report any employee or process concerns to Management.
- Follows and encourages all safety practices, reporting any concerns to a Safety Team member or member of Management.
- Ensures the quality of finished goods in the shipping process.
- Maintaining inventory of all shipping materials; cycle counting of inventory.
- Maintains a positive and collaborative work environment (in the department and across other functions).
- Print BOL’s, pre-shippers', and schedule loads through TMC as required for shipments.
- Guides, supports, and ensures effective training of team members.
- Shipping customer orders domestically \using specified carriers and freight forwarders.
- Prioritize the daily shipping picks to meet customer needs effectively.
- Packaging of all outgoing shipments utilizing specified corrugated trays, airbags, slip sheets, etc., for load secureness.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- History of success in a position of accountability is preferred.
- 2+ years of shipping experience.
- Experience with inventory, cycle counts, or audit is a plus.
- Proven ability to perform assigned tasks promptly.
- Basic Computer skills.
- Experience and ability to operate a forklift.
- Proficient in counting/math skills.
- Ability to lift >50 lbs., walk, stand, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, climb, carry.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., walk, stand, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, climb, carry.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Pay: The range is $25.51 - 26.51 per hour. Exact salary offered will depend on candidate’s experience, work location, skills, etc.
