The University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for an Administrator in Charge to work at UTower.
The Administrator in Charge is responsible for supporting staff and hospital operations in collaboration with senior leadership, fosters a positive and collaborative attitude in a patient-focused culture.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Acts as a liaison between all departments and ensures effective communication Identify areas of opportunity and help optimize workflows to enhance the quality of care
Possesses strong critical thinking skills Activates and coordinates procedural teams for emergencies occurring only after hours, weekends, and holidays
Assist with setting up the Command Center as directed Coordination of the management of Clinical and Non-clinical emergencies and subsequent notification to senior leadership Supports policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency, patient outcomes and service quality
Supports the implementation of emerging technologies and regulatory changes
Addresses issues and escalates in real-time Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including those set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies/agencies.
Work with leadership to develop and implement quality initiatives/programs aimed at improving patient safety and satisfaction.
Address and resolve any patient or family concerns in a timely and professional manner
Use of Tracer-methodology to assure compliance and standards of practice Medical examiner notification/presentation of cases and autopsy requests Notification to Law Enforcement as needed Post code verification and validation of emergency forms Designated Crash Cart Checks
Promotes accountability, offers recommendations, and takes actions needed based on performance of hospital staff Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and provide supportive leadership to staff while on duty
Promotes and supports employee engagement and well-being Promotes and supports a healthy work environment Supports unit-based and department Process Improvement projects
Provides coverage to Master Schedulers/Staffing Department as needed end of shift
Contributes to high standards of patient care by focusing on patient safety, patient satisfaction, patient experience and quality outcomes Collaborate with the medical teams to identify and address areas for improvement in clinical services Optimize patient flow and throughput within the organization

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Master’s Degree (Preferred)
Certification and Licensing:
Registered Nurse Licensing (RN)
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Experience:
5 years of direct patient care in an acute care facility
2 years of experience in a leadership role in an acute care facility
Subject Matter Expert in medical-surgical and high-acuity nursing procedures
Experience with all emergency codes (i.e. Code Blues, Rapid Response)
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
In-dept knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards and financial management practices
Ensure accountability of policy and procedure adherence
Skilled in organizing and prioritizing workload and manage duties in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, hospital and medical staff
Basic computer skills are required
Effective decision-making skills
Ability to collaborate effectively, team-oriented mindset
Adaptability in a fast-changing environment
Technical Duties: must be able to work with various equipment related to patient care
