You will join MiceDesk, a fast-growing impact start-up revolutionizing technological innovation and highly qualified specialist support in the hospitality industry. MiceDesk is building an AI-driven platform that automates complex sales workflows across email, CRM, and PMS systems, helping hospitality teams accelerate revenue management through smarter, data-driven decision-making.
We are now looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our core engineering team and help build, scale, and operate the cloud infrastructure powering real-world hospitality operations.
Performance Objectives
1) Cloud infrastructure engineering
Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
To achieve this objective, you will:
- Architect and manage production-grade cloud environments in Azure and AWS
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency of infrastructure
- Support Kubernetes-based workloads and cluster operations
- Define and enforce infrastructure standards across environments
2) CI/CD pipelines & deployment automation
Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, safe, and reliable software delivery.
To achieve this objective, you will:
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git-based workflows
- Implement automated deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling updates)
- Improve release velocity while ensuring system stability
- Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline delivery processes
3) Observability, monitoring & system reliability
Ensure full visibility and reliability across cloud systems and production services.
To achieve this objective, you will:
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems across cloud platforms
- Improve system observability using tools like Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, or Prometheus
- Define and track SLIs/SLOs for critical services
- Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
4) Infrastructure as Code & automation
Standardize and automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.
To achieve this objective, you will:
- Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Automate provisioning of cloud resources and environments
- Build reusable modules and infrastructure components
- Reduce manual operational overhead through automation
5) Identity, security & access management
Design and maintain secure and scalable identity and access systems.
To achieve this objective, you will:
- Implement identity and access management solutions across systems
- Ensure secure authentication and authorization flows
- Manage secrets, certificates, and secure configurations
- Enforce security best practices across cloud infrastructure
6) Cross-functional collaboration & platform ownership
Act as a key enabler for engineering teams by owning platform reliability and delivery infrastructure.
To achieve this objective, you will:
- Collaborate closely with backend and frontend engineering teams
- Support production deployments and incident resolution
- Improve developer experience through platform tooling
- Own infrastructure components end-to-end
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must-have skills
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure
- Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes (cluster management & deployment)
- Experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- Strong experience with Docker and containerized systems
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of Git workflows (Git Flow, Git Rebase, etc.)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with distributed production systems
- Strong English communication skills (B2–C1)
Nice-to-have
- Experience with microservices and distributed architectures
- Knowledge of Kafka, CQRS, or event-driven systems
- Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or API Management
- Experience with AWS services (EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, etc.)
- Familiarity with GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Flux)
- Experience with identity systems (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SSO)
