JOB SUMMARY
The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the transportation, distribution, and delivery operations of the company. The role ensures efficient movement of goods, cost-effective logistics operations, timely deliveries, and compliance with company standards while managing logistics personnel and third-party providers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistics & Transportation Management
- Manage daily logistics and transportation operations to ensure smooth and efficient product movement.
- Plan and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of products.
- Monitor fleet utilization, routing, and transportation costs to maximize efficiency.
Coordination & Operations
- Coordinate with warehouses, suppliers, transport providers, and internal departments for operational requirements.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of products during transportation.
- Resolve logistics issues, delays, and operational concerns promptly and effectively.
Team Leadership & Vendor Management
- Supervise logistics staff, drivers, and coordinators to ensure operational efficiency.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and transportation carriers.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve operational performance and reduce costs.
Compliance & Performance Monitoring
- Ensure compliance with transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor logistics KPIs such as delivery accuracy, turnaround time, and freight costs.
- Maintain accurate logistics records, reports, and documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within logistics and transportation operations.
- Provide recommendations to improve service levels, delivery efficiency, and operational cost management.
Inventory Management & Control
- Ensure accurate inventory management and maintain proper stock levels.
- Conduct regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities.
- Implement and maintain warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise warehouse personnel, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, and other departments for operational alignment.
Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards within warehouse operations.
- Monitor warehouse expenses and implement cost-control measures.
- Prepare operational reports, warehouse performance metrics, and process improvement initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure proper maintenance of warehouse equipment and facilities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse productivity and efficiency.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience:
- Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
- Experience in managing logistics personnel, transportation providers, and operational processes is preferred.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of transportation management systems and logistics processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and logistics software.
- Strong understanding of transportation coordination, routing, and distribution operations.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operations simultaneously
