RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs preventive maintenance on buildings, structures, conveyors, and related equipment to maintain safe operation, proper function, and acceptable appearance.
- Safely operates, inspects, and maintains light mobile equipment and hand tools in the performance of assigned duties and completion of work requests.
- Performs housekeeping, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting throughout BEC to ensure coal dust, ash, and other material accumulations are maintained within required safety standards and that plant areas are kept clean and orderly.
- Maintains constant sensory awareness to recognize abnormal equipment conditions, unsafe situations, or operational concerns.
- Performs troubleshooting and corrective actions as required within assigned skill level.
- Ensures the safe, reliable, and economical use and care of assigned tools and equipment.
- Provides general labor and relief assistance across BEC as directed, including support for scheduled outages, maintenance projects, or periodic operational upgrades.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- One year or more job related work experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position will report regularly in person to Cohasset, MN.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Knowledge of mechanical operations strongly preferred.
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
