Your Responsibilities:
- Support the creation of market analyses and implement category strategies.
- Define, cross-divisionally or -functionally align, and implement profitable purchasing strategies and effective negotiation tactics in the assigned area.
- Monitor the supply market continuously and manage and optimize the supplier portfolio to ensure quality, cost efficiency, on-time-delivery, sustainability and compliance with terms of contracts as well as legal regulations.
- Negotiate prices and conditions in the context of SMA and manage contracts with suppliers.
- Coordinate and steer assigned category including purchase price planning and define saving projects.
- Oversee and manage OES activities across the Americas, collaborating with category managers to establish strategic direction for the region.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier OES concerns and price increase issues, ensuring alignment with category managers.
- Act as a secondary escalation point beyond Category Managers to address and resolve local operational challenges.
- Facilitate and support PCN-related activities requested by OES suppliers.
- Assist in coordinating PTN activities from OES suppliers, including sourcing alternative suppliers when necessary.
- Ensure a seamless transfer of responsibility for supplier sub-components to OES during the transition of top-level assemblies.
- Identify and assess potential suppliers to bolster OES operations as needed.
- Build and maintain long-term partnerships with suppliers to guarantee a reliable supply chain.
- Conduct market analysis to stay updated on commodity trends, pricing changes, and potential risks.
- Evaluate market conditions and provide recommendations to enhance purchasing strategies.
- Monitor global and regional supply chain developments that may affect commodity pricing or availability.
- Collaborate closely with category purchasing teams to set and manage commodity budgets, identifying potential risks to OES component budgets while working strategically to minimize cost increases.
- Ensure compliance with legal and company policies in all purchasing activities.
- Proactively identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions, including preparations for future OES demands following periods of low demand.
- Prepare and deliver management presentations regularly or upon request, highlighting OES strategies, risks, and essential strategic topics.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Previous experience working in the specific industry (e.g. manufacturing, retail, etc.)
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers effectively.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate suppliers, market trends, and purchasing data.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with suppliers, team members, and management.
- Project Management: Experience in managing projects, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.), as well as advanced Excel skills.
- Understanding of Supply Chain Dynamics: Knowledge of supply chain dynamics, including logistics, inventory management, and sourcing strategies.
- Decision-Making: Strong decision-making skills with the ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Adaptability: Capacity to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A thorough understanding of ethical sourcing practices and compliance with legal regulations in procurement.
- Willingness to travel if necessary.
- Strong knowledge on mechanical parts & desired on electronics.
