We are designing the grid of the future!
The Civil Designer / Civil 3D CAD Designer is responsible for developing detailed civil design drawings and site development deliverables for substation, transmission line, and renewable energy (BESS) projects. This role supports engineering teams by converting conceptual layouts, markups, and technical inputs into accurate grading, drainage, and site plans. The ideal candidate has strong experience in Civil 3D, site grading, drainage design, and earthwork modeling, with the ability to coordinate with structural and electrical disciplines.
Responsibilities
How you can make an impact:
- Prepare civil design drawings including site plans, grading plans, drainage layouts, and access roads
- Develop surfaces, profiles, and earthwork (cut/fill) analysis using Civil 3D
- Design and draft stormwater drainage systems, including ditches, culverts, and discharge points
- Support development of erosion and sediment control (ESC) plans
- Assist with stormwater management and hydrology calculations
- Prepare foundation layouts and coordinate with structural design teams
- Review and interpret engineering markups, survey data, geotechnical reports, and specifications
- Ensure design compliance with project standards, local regulations, and industry practices
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, electrical) to resolve design issues
- Maintain organized project files, drawing sets, and revision tracking
Qualifications
Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:
Required Qualifications
