The Senior BI Developer owns the technical direction, quality standards, and scalability of business intelligence solutions across initiatives. This role combines hands‑on expertise with technical authority to ensure BI solutions are performant, governed, and aligned with enterprise standards.
What You’ll Be Contributing:
Data Architecture, Modeling and Management
- Define and own enterprise‑level data modeling approaches to support analytics and reporting across domains;
- Design and implement complex data models for high‑impact or cross‑functional use cases, while acting as a technical reference on model structure and best practices for other contributors to BI solutions;
- Ensure data consistency and reliability across BI assets through appropriate validation, monitoring, and governance practices.
ETL/ELT and Data Pipelines
- Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from multiple internal and external sources;
- Define and enforce best practices for pipeline performance, error handling, logging, and recovery, ensuring alignment with security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
Reporting, Analytics, and Visualization (Power BI)
- Lead the design of advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models for internal stakeholders and customer-facing analytics;
- Implement and optimize DAX measures, row-level security (RLS), and aggregation strategies to deliver performant, intuitive analytics solutions;
- Establish and promote visualization and UX standards to ensure consistency, usability, and adoption.
Project Leadership and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Own the end‑to‑end technical direction of BI initiatives, from solution design through delivery, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and architectural consistency;
- Partner with business stakeholders translate analytical needs into pragmatic, scalable technical solutions, acting as the technical decision authority and making trade‑offs between performance, cost, and delivery timelines.
Technical Authority, Review, and Standards
- Establish, maintain, and enforce BI development standards, including data modeling conventions, performance optimization practices, and visualization guidelines and review deliverables for adherence;
- Act as a trusted technical advisor and reviewer for BI solution design providing guidance on feasibility, risks, and alignment with enterprise standards.
Quality, Governance, and Continuous Improvement
- Identify, prioritize, and implement improvements to BI development processes, tooling, and architecture to improve delivery efficiency and reduce rework;
- Monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of BI workloads, and initiate corrective actions as needed (e.g., dataset refreshes, capacity usage).
What Sets You Apart:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data/Analytics, or a related field;
- 5-7 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, with a strong focus on Microsoft‑based analytics platforms;
- Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end, production‑grade BI solutions (data modeling, pipelines, and reporting);
- Advanced proficiency with Power BI (semantic models, DAX, RLS, performance optimization);
- Strong experience with modern Microsoft data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake);
- Advanced SQL skills and solid understanding of data warehousing and BI architecture;
- Ability to act as a technical authority, owning solution direction and quality across BI initiatives;
- Experience supporting analytics across internal business functions and customer‑facing reporting, ideally within manufacturing and/or IT services environments;
