We are looking for a Senior Controls Engineer who wants to design, build, and commission innovative automation solutions across material handling, conveying, and robotics environments. This role spans the full project lifecycle—from concept and design through testing, commissioning, and customer handoff.

What You Will Do:
- Support sales during proposal development, concepts, and quoting
- Design electrical schematics and panels for conveying and automation systems
- Procure electrical components and coordinate logistics
- Partner with panel builders to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery
- Develop PLC and HMI programs
- Support electrical installers during field installation
- Lead on-site testing, commissioning, and startup
- Train operators and support systems post go-live
- Deliver complete and accurate final documentation
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of relevant controls engineering experience
- PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley required; Beckhoff or Siemens a plus)
- HMI development experience (Allen-Bradley required; Beckhoff or Ignition a plus)
- AutoCAD experience with electrical schematics and panel layouts
- Experience in material handling environments (conveyors, robotics)
- Barcode scanning systems experience (Cognex a plus)
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Individuals work hybrid at our Willowbrook, IL office
- Salary is open to negotiation based on experience
