Job Title: Legal Counsel (Commercial)
Salary: Around £60,000 plus excellent benefits package

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join our Legal and Compliance Team as Legal Counsel. We are looking for a solicitor/barrister with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally having trained in private practice, with a specialism in commercial contracts.
We are looking for a highly professional and personable individual to provide cross-functional support to colleagues within Scania GB. This role offers direct exposure to the senior leadership team, offering a high-quality and diverse remit of strategic legal matters.
You will act as a first point of contact for commercial legal queries, providing support directly to teams across the business, including sales, marketing, IT, operations, finance, internal compliance and people and culture.

Amanda is the General Counsel (Head of Legal and Compliance) whose team provides legal advice and support across the business. Amanda is passionate about delivering a first-class service to the business and seeing her team develop.

Sophie is Senior Legal Counsel, supporting Amanda, and will be the line manager for this new role. Sophie has 7 years of post-qualification experience gained in private practice and in-house, joining Scania in January 2024. Her work focuses on assisting the business with large-scale strategic projects and all aspects of complex commercial contracting, but she also has experience advising on confidentiality, privacy, and intellectual property matters.
