For over 25 years, Southwest Care Center has been providing exceptional healthcare to the communities of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM. We are a non-profit, FQHC-LAL providing medical, behavioral health, case management, community outreach, diabetes education, and pharmacy services. We are proud to offer gender equity medicine, syringe exchange, and HIV/HepC treatment, testing and other services within our communities.
Southwest Care Center is currently seeking full-time Pharmacy Technician to support its Alameda Clinic in Santa Fe, NM.
Monday - Friday schedule

Entry-level no experience required with 1 year of healthcare or pharmacy experience preferred.
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Valid Pharmacy Technician license from the NM Board of Pharmacy. Can obtain upon hire.
Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate from PTCB. Can obtain upon hire.
Maintains BLS Certification (current certification a plus).
Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Technician participates in all aspects of filling prescriptions, performs clerical work to maintain pharmacy standards and legal requirements within the scope of practice outlined by the Board of Pharmacy. Interacts with patients and provides excellent customer service to coordinate safe and effective medication practices for patients.
Pharmacy Technicians will model professionalism, meet expected performance levels, demonstrate the values of the organization, and most importantly provide patient-focused services. This role will serve as a patient advocate using good judgment, initiative, critical-thinking, and effective communication at all times.
Maintain and update patient profiles and prescription files.
Enter prescriptions into electronic system efficiently and accurately.
Fill prescriptions and coordinate auto refill for applicable patients.
Prepare packages for shipping and delivery.
File prescriptions, paperwork.
Comply with 340B, Aid & Comfort, Board of Pharmacy, DEA requirements.
Answer pharmacy phone calls, return calls to patients, maintain voicemail.
Communicate with insurance companies/manufacturers to resolve coverage issues, initiate prior authorization process, activate manufacturer co-pay cards.
Document in appropriate databases.
Run register, coordinate billing, and balance cash at end of day.
Activate patient assistance and copay assistance cards.
Reorder and restock drug and related materials necessary to operate the pharmacy and verify receipt against invoices.
Run and interpret pharmacy reports.
Process returns to inventory as well as to distributor. Return expired drug to reverse distributor.
Attend of meetings required for position (i.e.., Department meetings, all-staff meetings, multi-disciplinary team meetings)
Maintain a work environment conducive to excellent customer service and act in a professional manner in the workplace.
Light travel as may be required for training purposes.
Participate in clean-up as appropriate.
Participate in regularly scheduled and ad hoc inventories as directed.
Works with other SCC departments as appropriate to promote exceptional integrated patient care.
Complete other pharmacy related duties as assigned
