Clinic hours are Monday - Friday, typically 8am - 6pm (Fridays clinic closes early)
Part time schedule is flexible within clinic hours.
Comprehensive Life Resource is looking for a qualified Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Tacoma, WA.

Scope: Provide case management and counseling services to include individual or group services as part of the Outpatient behavioral services treatment team. Work may be in the clinic and/or community depending on client needs. Serves as a member of the organization that welcomes, engages and serves individuals with complex needs.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical case coordination and counseling to assigned clients
Work as part of a clinical care team to provide integrated healthcare to consumers at CLR
Complete risk assessments and coordinate treatment planning and services with other program staff, other consultants, relevant agencies, and individuals, e.g. DOC, hospitals, Congregate Care Facilities, etc.)
Work with consumers to achieve treatment goals; utilize Motivational Interviewing Techniques, cognitive behavioral and other evidence-based interventions to engage clients in the recovery process.
Complete paperwork in a timely manner.
Keep records up-to-date and in compliance with WAC, Title XIX and agency requirements.
Participate in intake and assessment, treatment planning, and psychiatric review of cases.
Attend treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and designated staff training and consultation sessions.
Ensure that ethical and professional standards of practice are maintained.
Provide support and counseling to client’s family and natural supports as appropriate.
Be prepared to respond to client crisis as part of a team as appropriate or needed.
Work with clients and multidisciplinary team to develop a treatment plan (signed off on by an MHP for counselor 1) and track progress in achieving goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Successfully completed and graduated from MH Counselor training at CLR or enrolled in a qualified master’s degree program.
Demonstrated ability to meet productivity and clinical paperwork standards
WA State credential
Strong computer skills
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality.
Valid Washington State driver’s license; proof of insurance.
Equipment/Machines Used: Basic office equipment to include computer, printer, copier, fax, scanner, tablet and telephone.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
Must have the ability to:
Sit for up to 8 hours per day, and up to 3 consecutive hours
Stand for 8 total hours per day and up to 2 total consecutive hours
Frequently use fingers/hands for work that requires dexterity
Use upper extremities for frequent lifting of objects up to 10 pounds
Must have the ability for:
Frequent stooping and bending
Touching as it relates to feeling objects by touching with the skin, particularly that of fingertips
Hearing as it relates to normal conversation, high frequency and low frequency hearing sounds
Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, color vision and peripheral vision
Physical ability to be stationery and traverse in an office environment. Physical mobility to travel within the community. Occasional moving items up to 25 lbs.
Working Conditions: Usual office conditions, computer use, and outside interactions.
Environmental Conditions: Indoor environment, office environment; outside weather while working in the community.
