We are searching for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Mechanical Applications Technician to join our GAL Canada team at Vantage Elevation.
The Mechanical Applications Technician is responsible for reviewing door operator survey submissions, validating technical requirements, and supporting the sales and operations teams with accurate product application requirements. Responsibilities include analyzing layout drawings to assist with door operator selection and application feasibility. The position works closely with sales, engineering, production, and customer support.
In addition, the Mechanical Applications Technician responds to technical customer support and troubleshooting inquiries related to door operator installations and field performance issues. This includes supporting customers with problem diagnosis and coordinating with internal teams to support timely issue resolution.

Requirements
We are searching for a candidate with:
Degree/Diploma in mechanical engineering and/or technology field with minimum of 5 years technical experience is required
Proficiency in AutoCAD is a MUST, including the ability to interpret, and create technical drawings and layouts where applicable
Experience reviewing and validating door operator applications is preferred
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to support customers through technical issues in a professional manner
Possess good time management skills with ability to maintain accurate records.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, etc. required.
Duties and Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
Respond to customer technical support inquiries and provide timely resolutions
Provide mechanical product support for door equipment and door operator applications
Review customer surveys, drawings, layouts and field information to validate mechanical configurations and application suitability
Support sales, operations and customers with technical guidance related to door equipment products and mechanical applications
Review and support special application requests and non-standard mechanical configurations where applicable
Interpret mechanical drawings, dimensions, clearances, and mounting arrangements to ensure order accuracy
Maintain accurate documentation related to surveys, technical recommendations, troubleshooting activities, and customer communications.

Position Details
Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm (Onsite)
Based in Mississauga, Ontario
Salary range from $90,000 to $110,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience)
Target bonus of 10%
