About the opportunity
The Senior Compliance and Project Officer plays a pivotal role in delivering legislative compliance and remediation projects across the Education and Students Portfolio. Working under broad supervision, you will provide specialist advice, project governance, and high‑level written communications that support informed decision‑making. This role directly contributes to strengthening compliance, improving processes, and ensuring alignment with internal and external requirements.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
provide expert project management support for compliance and education‑focused initiatives
develop and implement project governance processes to monitor performance, risks and reporting
review committee papers, submissions, and representations to identify issues against legislative and policy requirements
prepare high‑level written materials including committee papers, briefings, strategic reports and submissions
coordinate project logistics, track progress and implement changes to ensure timely delivery
cultivate productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and support strategic communication plans
About you
significant project management experience within a complex organisation
experience interpreting and applying legislation, policy and regulatory requirements
demonstrated ability to prepare high‑level written reports, briefings and committee papers
experience managing diverse internal and external stakeholders
strong capability in project governance, risk monitoring and reporting
a relevant bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
