This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at Penn State (University Park) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor position in Italian (non-tenure-track), to begin in August 2026.
Responsibilities include teaching introductory and intermediate language courses. Teaching load is six courses per year or equivalent configuration with the possibility that up to half of the courses will be taught online (asynchronous).
Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in English and Italian and have completed a Master’s degree in Italian or in a related field by the appointment date. Demonstrated excellence in teaching Italian is preferred. Rank will be determined based on education and experience.
