Summary
Due to ongoing growth in our poultry business, we are seeking an experienced Poultry account manager with particular focus on laying hens.
As a Poultry Account Manager, you will be responsible for sales of the ForFarmers Poultry Feed Portfolio in line with the agreed sales strategy. You will be accountable for achieving volume and margin targets across your customer base.
The Poultry Feed Portfolio includes compound feeds and nutritional solutions designed for broilers, layers, breeders, duck, turkey and pullets. Working closely with the Poultry Sales Manager, you will develop existing accounts, prospect new business, and drive sustainable growth in market share across your region.
Your Responsibilities
Selling Skills and Account Management
- Service and add value to agreed poultry accounts in line with Strategy 2025
- Increase poultry market share across the region
- Add value through technical nutritional advice, performance analysis, and practical production guidance
- Achieve budgeted sales volume and margin targets
- Deliver agreed sales targets and growth objectives
- Implement selling price movements as instructed by the Sales Manager
- Ensure full compliance with company credit management procedures
- Build and maintain account plans for key poultry customers
- Review performance monthly with the Sales Manager against CRM growth targets
- Maintain a structured, efficient approach to prospecting and time management
Business Development
- Work closely with the Sales Manager to identify opportunities for market share growth and value optimisation
- Develop strong relationships with new and existing poultry producers
- Provide recommendations and support on complaint resolution, ensuring swift and professional handling
- Share relevant commercial and technical knowledge proactively with colleagues
- Focus on increasing feed efficiency, bird performance, and customer profitability
- Fully utilise the ForFarmers poultry offering, including specialist feeds and added-value services
- Support innovation and adoption of new poultry feed solutions and concepts
Team Working
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the sales and technical teams
- Maintain strong relationships with Customer Service, Mills, and Transport to ensure smooth supply and accurate information
- Support Health & Safety compliance on poultry units
- Share success stories and best practice with colleagues
Training and Development
- Apply ForFarmers’ trained selling techniques and value-based approach
- Attend internal and external meetings, training sessions, and farm events
- Provide management information on customer retention, acquisition, and account profitability
- Keep up to date with poultry market trends, technical developments, campaigns, and product knowledge
