About the Role

We are currently looking for a Legal & Compliance Manager to join Repurpose It, reporting to the General Counsel & EGM Corporate Affairs. This is a newly created role where the person will play a key role in supporting the business across legal, compliance, governance and commercial matters within a highly regulated environment.

This is a hands-on role partnering with leaders across operations, commercial, finance, technology and corporate functions to provide pragmatic, transparent, commercially focused legal advice that enables business growth while managing risk effectively.

You will work across a broad range of legal and compliance matters including commercial contracts, environmental regulation, governance, risk, sustainability reporting and regulatory compliance.

This is a 5-day onsite role based in our corporate office in Essendon Fields.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide timely, commercially focused legal advice across the business
• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements
• Support operational and executive teams with risk-based decision making
• Lead and manage legal matters with external counsel
• Develop and maintain compliance frameworks, policies and training programs
• Support compliance with environmental, corporate and commercial legislation
• Assist with sustainability and climate-related disclosure obligations
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the business
• Build strong relationships and engage with key stakeholders across multiple business functions and sites

About You:

• Bachelor of Laws and current Victorian Practising Certificate
• 5+ years PQE with commercial law experience, obtained either in-house or private practice
• Strong commercial drafting and negotiation experience
• Ability to provide practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment
• Experience across compliance, governance and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
