About the Role:
The key role of the PIR Team Leader is to support the daily function and running of the SUC, including rostering, staff support and stock support. In collaborating with the PIR Program Manager and Shift Leader Team Leader, the PIR Team Leader will ensure that the team delivers a high standard of outreach services to clients through a strengths-based approach, meets their performance targets, and operates within the program budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the daily function of the Metro Sobering Up Centre (SUC)
- Provide supervision and support to the Metro PIR staff.
- Support the functions of rostering, Employment Hero/Employment Innovations and other
requirements regarding staff rostering.
- Support the implementation of PIR events for community.
- Be available for on-call afterhours when needed. (Minimum 1 week per month/
Maximum 2 weeks per month)
- Maintaining and ordering supplies as required for the Centre.
- Monitor and/or provide one on one supervision to staff.
- Support PIR Metro Programs Manager with any relevant administrative tasks.
- Comply with Ngwala’s administrative and personnel requirements.
- Help with onboarding of new staff within the Metro SUC.
Skills & Experience:
- Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, or related field (Desirable)
- An understanding of the intergenerational loss, grief and trauma that is experienced by Aboriginal community members and the subsequent AOD issues that result.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and commitment to the Aboriginal community
- Experience working with AOD and/or dual diagnosis community members including a
willingness to participate in relevant training.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of screening, assessment and support to people and their families with AOD issues.
- Demonstrated experience in providing high quality advice, education and support to community members and families.
- Experience working with AOD and/or dual diagnosis community members including a willingness to participate in relevant training.
- Ability to provide leadership and line management supervision to a team of specialist
workers.
- Experience in maintaining records, data collection and reporting.
- Good organization and time management skills
- Experience in group facilitation.
- Deep understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander cultures.
- General proficiency with computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Current Victorian driver's license
- National Police Certificate (not older than 3 months)
- Victorian Employment Working with Children Check
