Role Responsibilities
The Pharmacy Assistant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist the pharmacist with prescription processing, data entry, and labeling in accordance with regulations. • Accurately prepare, package, and organize medications under the supervision of the pharmacist. • Maintain inventory by receiving, ordering, and stocking pharmaceuticals and pharmacy supplies. • Ensure proper storage, handling, and monitoring of medications and controlled substances. • Greet and assist patients in a professional manner, responding to general inquiries and coordinating refills. • Manage point-of-sale transactions and insurance billing processes as required. • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure all documentation meets regulatory standards. • Support the pharmacist with administrative tasks, recordkeeping, and reporting. • Help maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the pharmacy environment. • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
Role Qualifications
• Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant certificate or diploma from an accredited program. • Minimum 1–2 years of pharmacy experience in a retail, compounding, or clinic-based setting. • Strong knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication handling, and dispensing procedures. • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. • Proficiency with pharmacy management software, Microsoft Office, and point-of-sale systems. • Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance #HP
