Production Supervisor – West Shipping/Receiving As part of our commitment to achieving World Class Manufacturing, the Production Supervisor is responsible for being a leader of change, eager to run their own independent business cell. The Production Supervisor's primary focus is the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in all aspects of performance for the cell, and providing leadership and direction to the team. Success will be measured using the metrics of Safety, Quality, Profitability, Delivery, and Staff Development. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include: • Coordinate, supervise, and complete order fulfillment process related to shipping and receiving. • Process returns following established procedures. • Identify inventory problems, correct errors, and maintain the accuracy inventory. • Maintain storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements. • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. • Monitor handling practices to ensure all products are stored and shipped within the specified requirement. • Provide on-going coaching, training, and motivation of new and existing employees to assist them in consistently meeting company productivity and customer service standards. • Drive the achievement of key performance indicators (KPI) • Initiate improvement, corrective, and preventative actions on issues hindering the achievement of KPI. • Utilize available established tools and references in managing the product and the organization. The ideal candidate for this position will have: • Supervisory and leadership experience within a Lean Manufacturing environment. • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5S. • Strong scheduling, time management, communication, and computer skills. • Previous Shipping & Receiving experience is considered an asset. • Safety and mobile equipment knowledge. • MRP/ERP Experience is considered an asset. • Comfortable with Microsoft Office. • Excellent communication skills. • Ability to multitask.
