Position Summary:
The Equipment Assistant for Football is a term, time-limited position that assists in the day-to-day operation
of the football equipment department.
About the Work Unit:
Vanderbilt University’s Athletics Department prepares student-athletes to become leaders and champions
in life by placing the highest values on integrity, character, sportsmanship and victory. Vanderbilt is a
charter member of the Southeastern Conference and is the conference's only private school. The university
fields 17 varsity teams (6 men's teams and 11 women's teams), 15 of which compete in the Southeastern
Conference.
Key Functions and Expected Performance:
1. Assists football equipment staff in the set up and support of football practices
2. Provide on-field support to players and coaches during practices times
3. Help with home football game day set up and operation
4. Assist with sorting and stocking equipment and apparel
5. Assist with storing and repairing equipment
6. Help football equipment managers with issuing players/coaches equipment when needed
7. Assist with laundry duties as needed
8. Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Certifications:
• A High School diploma is necessary; A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
• High level of organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities is necessary.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as events require is necessary.
• Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations are preferred.
