Summary The Corporate Logistics Coordinator is responsible for handling the logistical coordination of the organizations’ facilities, including office buildings and plants within a defined geographical region. Duties include procurement of logistics services, management of carrier relationships, support of the plants logistical and operational needs as they relate to transportation and the safe interaction of carriers with shipping and receiving. The Logistics Coordinator shall also create and maintain all associated documentation in adherence with established company practices, legislation and organizational policies and procedures. In some circumstances, the Logistics Coordinator may be responsible for the safety requirements of the organizations’ facilities and assets.
Core Competencies • Ability to Work Independently with Minimal Supervision • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills • Energy & Resilient • Highly-organized • Team Work and Consensus Building • Time Management • Adaptability/ Flexibility • Decision Making and Judgement • Planning and Organizing • Problem Solving Job Duties • Develop and direct logistic processes and establish ongoing improvement plans for freight management, vendor routing, and carrier management. • Develop, implement, and monitor performance metrics for transportation, shipping and receiving. • Create, monitor, and report on weekly and monthly logistics key performance indicators. • Negotiate with and manage contracts and service level agreements for contracted carriers using Corporate formats and methods for bidding freight services. • Collaborate with purchasing departments in request for proposal (RFP), and request for quote (RFQ) processes. • Provide monthly updates on the status of projects and give progress reports on other process improvement initiatives. • Manage courier/carrier implementations and establish service level agreements to ensure services are delivered as promised. • Conduct profit and loss management for the company’s logistics function; work with assigned plants to support effective management of logistics budgets. • Communicate the organizations safety policies in accordance with applicable federal safety standards and local laws. • Deal with imports and exports shipped to and from the company; work with customs compliance team to ensure compliance. • Obtain freight quotes and prepare documentation for outbound shipments. • Maintain relationships with carriers and warehouses. • Build and maintain daily reports related to logistics. • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements • 4-year degree with heavy emphasis in business, international trade, and/or global supply chain. • Five years related experience in a manufacturing environment, specially in the Automotive Industry. • Direct working knowledge of operations, plant management, inventory control, and transportation management. • Solid computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite, with focus on data analysis using Excel functionality. • Experience in managing logistics providers
