Introduction The Jim Pattison Auto Group has an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 to 4 Apprentice or Certified Red Seal Service Technician to join our Toyota Downtown dealership. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our Service Department by accurately diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability. Schedule: This is a full-time, permanent role of 40 hours per week. Including Saturday rotations. Pay Range: $37.75 to $44.00 hourly depending on certification and level of experience. This position is unionized and subject to the terms of a collective agreement. This role reports to the Fixed Operations Manager of the dealership. Learn more about us here: https://www.jpautogroup.com/dealership/about.htm A Day in the Life • Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards • Perform thorough vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and measurements • Identify mechanical and electrical issues, recommend solutions, and communicate findings clearly to Service team • Partner with Service Advisors to provide updates on repair timelines or recommend additional safety work • Conduct road tests and pre-delivery inspections on new inventory to ensure every vehicle leaving the shop is in top condition • Coordinate with the Parts Department to source what you need and manage warranty labeling • Assist fellow technicians when needed to maintain overall shop productivity • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards • Ensure a high degree of confidentiality with company and customer information • Participate in maintaining a supportive and engaging working environment What We’re Looking For • Level 3 to 4 Apprentice Technician or Red Seal Certified, or candidates who are currently eligible and actively pursuing Red Seal certification • Previous experience as an automotive technician is required • A valid BC Driver’s license is required, including a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required • Able to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail • Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team • Reliable, punctual, and dependable • Ability to work the physical requirements of a service technician role • Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds • Ability to stand for extended periods of time • High level of mobility, dexterity, endurance, and sensory awareness • Ability to work in an automotive shop environment • Indoor automotive shop with multiple service bays • Exposure to noise (engines, air tools), fumes (exhaust, solvents), and dust • Work performed around moving vehicles, hoists, and heavy equipment • Temperature can vary (shops may be cooler in winter, warmer in summer despite heating/ventilation) What We Offer • Competitive wages • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and insurance • Unlimited opportunities for advancement, growth, and development • Manufacturer led training opportunities • Access to exclusive corporate discount programs • Recognition and rewards programs • A great team atmosphere and a positive, supportive working environment How to Apply If this sounds like a great fit, please apply with your resume today!
