Nokia Technology Standards Research & Innovation is working with internal and external experts to advance the state-of-the-art technology landscape for wearable sensing, physiological signal analysis, and AI methods for digital health applications.
We are looking for Masters/PhD-level summer interns to join us in Cambridge (UK), working on wearable intelligence for sleep health. The internships will focus on multimodal wearable sensing, physiological signal analysis, and machine learning for sleep-related modelling. These internships offes the opportunity to work on real-world multimodal wearable and mobile sensor datasets, transforming complex physiological signals into actionable insights for sleep health and advancing AI-powered wearable intelligence for future digital health applications.
Currently enrolled in a Masters/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Machine Learning, Signal Processing, or a related field
Strong background in machine learning, statistical modelling, signal processing, or time-series analysis
Experience working with wearable, physiological, or other sensor-based data (such as PPG, IMU, …)
Strong programming skills in Python
Hands-on experience with machine learning and data analysis tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, NumPy, Pandas, or similar
Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating models or algorithms on real-world datasets
Ability to work independently on research-oriented problems and to communicate results clearly
